A1200 + 68030@64Mhz against the world! - AIBB
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: This beast flies! System is air-cooled (no heatsinks even but it's kinda cold these days :-) - graphics glitches did occur when not cooled by fan), rock-stable. Using 50ns FPMs right now. Boots at 66.667Mhz but only if caches are off for an SC414075RC50 and caches on with an MC68030RC50, but will eventually hang during heavy operations.

paul1981 Posts:2157 | December 02, 2009, 01:28:05 AM Nice one! :roflmao: I admit, I had a go at this once and overclocked my apollo1230/40MHz to 66MHz....The 030 was rated at 40MHz,and the FPU at 33.... Worked for a few minutes and then it started to crash, but not before I set ReOrg off to optimise my hard drive...ARGHHHHH!!! Lost my boot partition....well, let's say it got encrypted. I couldn't get the card to work reliably after that, even when underclocked. RIP Apollo 1230. I've noticed the memory transfer speed....impressive. That's 1MB/s faster than my 060/66. Weird though, I always got the fastest memory transfer speed on my Apollo 040/40...over 19MB/s. Perhaps something to do with the 80MHz Osc? |
