OS3.2.1 & Poseidon 4.5
« on: January 20, 2022, 08:03:40 PM »
Hi all,

I updated my 3.2 install to 3.2.1 but I am now getting two pop up menus on boot up complaining about insufficient stack size for Poseidon / MUI.

Poseidon is v4.5 and MUI is v5.0.

Ive adjusted the stack size for Trident using its icon and setting stack = 32000; Ive done the same for the hid.class in Trident but I still get the pop-ups.

Any ideas?

Best.

Is there a global MUI stack setting somewhere? If not, this is most likely an MUI bug. I've found everything newer than MUI v3.8 to be buggy on 68K.

Similar to what I was seeing with AmiIRC:

As suggested in above thread I'm using stackattack for now which is alleviating the MUI stack request issue but don't like to put patches in the system as much as possible.  Would be nice to have something done better in this regard (can Poseidon 4.5 be updated to support MUI > 3.8 by adding option to increase stack or can MUI suppress this warning?)

Doesn't OS3.2 try to be clever about stack sizes on workbench icons?

Thanks all. It was my startup-sequence entry that was messed up. I had stackattack in my Stratup-Sequence. When installing the 3.2.1 update it replaced my startup. I totally forgot about stackattack. Putting it back in sorted the problem. All working ok now.  :)
