Amiga User Group News / Next FCUG meeting - Sunday, August 16, 2026
« Last post by RobertB on August 09, 2026, 02:38:04 PM »
Happy National Bowling Day, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 2:30+ p.m., Sunday, August 16, at

  Panera Bread Restaurant
3590 W. Shaw Ave. (corner of W. Shaw Ave. and Marty Ave.)
  Fresno, CA 93711
  (559) 271-0104
  http://www.dickestel.com/meet_loc.htm

For discussion, we'll talk about our Commodore and Amiga computers to be exhibited at the Bay Area Maker Faire in late September and Rocklin Maker Faire in early October.
In hardware, we'll sift through Amiga hardware and software donated by Steve R. of Long Beach, CA, hardware like an Amiga 2500, monitor, and DCTV, and software like Sculpt Animate 4D, Excellence, and Amiga magazines.
It's the 60th anniversary of Star Trek in September, and we'll be looking at Amiga, C64, and VIC-20 games that are Trek-related!  By using the AmigaOne A1222+ or the A600GS, we'll be starting first with Amiga (which we ran out of time to use last month).  Then we'll shift over to the Ultimate 64 and the VIC-20.

        Engage!

Thank you.

So basically the cable I linked to should be fine:

I would like one that is way shorter but not much to do about that.

And with this in stead as the converter from 68 to 50:

Thanks for the link but customs makes it a no go to order from the UK.

Are you sure I need termination after the Zulu SCSI? Termination should be built into the Zulu SCSI.

And now we are at it. Does the the Cyberstorm have SCSI termination power? I think it does but not sure.

Yes to link 1.
If you are just planning on just 1 SCSI device then yes just use the inbuilt Termination of the Zulu.

Then yes this is the adapter you use for the Zulu scsi.

I’m using a standard 68 pin with terminator connector on before the CSPPC and also one after the SCSI2SD. To connect a 50 pin to a 68 pin I am using 68 pin female to 50 Pin female adapter.
 Basically one of these

https://ebay.io/m/wF9HfU

I would consider LVD/SE termination on the cable so to keep your SCSI bus speeds. I don’t know what type of SCSI termination is used on the Zulu. Can only gather it’s a standard SCSI-II Active.

I am looking for a - preferably - short SCSI-cable to connect a Cyberstrom PPC to a Zulu SCSU RP2040.

Have tried Amibay and searched a bit but basically I am not sure what cable I should get. I am not using the SCSI port at the moment.

The Zulu SCSI has a built ind terminator so the cable should most likely be:

Terminator -> CSPPC (68-pin Ultra Wide) -> cable with one or more connectors -> 50 pin IDC (Zulu SCSI with built in termination).

The Cyberstrom SCSI is located under a IDE HD with not much space so the first connector can not be too big.

Maybe something like this if it works on Cyberstorm:

With a converter at the ZuliSCSI end:

You’re welcome  8).

Just a small update: I've heard another report of similar issues with Alice's Vbb voltage collapsing, but there the root cause was the C2X capacitor going bad (low capacitance), so that should also be considered if the same symptoms arise: graphics and sound goes crazy after a short time running OK, Alice runs hot, XU9 GAL runs hot, Vbb voltage and CCKQ clock voltage collapse, but cooling Alice avoids the failure.

My fixed A1200 is still going strong, so supplying Vbb externally seems an acceptable solution (provided C2X is OK). :)

Do we know if this is also the same issue on the A4000?
Great diagnosis work. It’s always been documented that Alice can get hot. I always placed Heatsinks on mine and the GALs.

Amiga Hardware Issues and discussion / 68060 EC rated at 75Mhz

I have a few of these, are they of any use in the Amiga community?

Note these are EC (so no FPU or MMU).

The Atari community can use them in the CT60 board for the Falcon and I have offered to them first but...

Tonight, I finally got JIT booting the full kickstart. Its just crashing when trying to load disks.
Had a few fairlight cracktro screens boot, then it crashes. Trying to find bugs now.
