It first published in April, 1988, as bimonthly. It went monthly in January 89, The last issue I have, well, had, was October 1989.

Hi bm07, et al.

Sorry, that Transactor page of mine disappeared when geocities died late last year...

I sent my (fairly voluminous) magazine collection, which included a number of old Transactor issues, to James in Canberra.
Think he is on here, not sure of the user name though.

He maintains a page at: http://amigan.1emu.net/

No idea if he has got around to scanning them yet..

Cheers,
Red

The information posted by JimS agrees with the Amiga Transactors I have - ie: April 88 to Oct 89.

It ran concurrently with the Transactor (original ) which itself ended in August 89.

Although the original Transactor was primarily 8 bit, prior to Aprill 88 it did carry an Amiga section.

There were a lot of Amiga magazines that came and went quickly back in those Elder Days. I used to have about 10 of those plastic milk crates full of them.

The Transactor was no the TPUG Magazine, it was seperate. It was a very Technical Magazine and started with the C64. The Amiga version of the Magazine was called Amiga Transactor. At one time I had most of the Transactor and Amiga Transactor issues but discarded them when I last moved.
Shaf

Discarded them!?!

I hope no other members here throw away their Amiga magazines without first offering to give them to a new home.  I have a fairly large Amiga magazine collection, but only a few Amiga Transactor mags and would have gladly paid for the postage to add to my collection.  Specially for Amiga magazines that have more technical or programming info.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Thanks! I had a charter subscription to AmigaWorld's Tech Journal, so I'm pretty sure I have all of those :)

I have seven of AmigaWorld's Tech Journal scanned. They're the only one of the US magazine publishers that still exist.

Amiga Transactor was published in Toronto.  It was also widely available in the US.  There were UK an Italian editions.

I used to write a column for Amiga Transactor.  At one point I thought seriously about buying the magazine -- I'd arranged financing and was looking for editors and printers.  But, I let reality prevail when, against my wishes, I realized that the Amiga would not survive.  Transactor went away and soon after the Amiga did.

The editors of Amiga Transactor, Nick Sullivan and Chris Zamara, moved their software company, AHA!, to Vancouver after Transactor folded.  No idea what they are up to today.

Hi Steve... I used to be a member of the old Compuserve Amiga forums. Atari too for that matter. ;-)

Hi to Steve and all the old Transactor for the Amiga fans,  I was the publisher for the magazine in the UK and covered  Europe/Scandanavia from the first issue and carried on with it for a year after it was taken over and closed down by a rival publishing company.
I still have loads of Amiga hardware and software in the loft (scared to get in there in case it collapses) and all the issues of the magazine "Transactor for the Amiga".
Anyone who wamts to get in touch is welcome.
Dave
