FS: Brand New (NOS) QuickPak Amiga 4000 Towers
« on: September 22, 2008, 09:18:19 PM »
No, that was not a misprint but it is a tease at this point! I am working on a deal to source a large quantity of NOS (New Old Stock) QuickPak Amiga 4000T. The price won't be cheap for me, so the end user cost won't be cheap. The price will be much cheaper than the last couple clean used units recently sold on eBay.

Would you be interested in this, the ultimate Amiga of all times?

Damn you Red!

I had swore I would not buy any more Classic Amiga computers.

In fact, I am trying to cut my collection by almost half, not add to it.

NOS A4000T's are soooooooooooooo tempting though.

Edit: Pan1k, if you do get one let me know.  Maybe we can save on shipping by putting two towers in one box?
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

All,

QuikPak (as many may recall) was the licensed assembler for US A4000Ts when ESCOM/AI ran the show.  Their early units look just like the ESCOM units (same case) with the only appreciable difference being the A4060 accellerator designed for QuikPak (arguably the fastest 060 ever due to use of EDO RAM).

Later, as QuikPak was about to go away, they began to ship a "new" A4000T in a much better case (larger, wider) with a bigger power supply.  Their goal was to try to recapture the video toaster market and their uprated case was perfect for the task.

*IF* Redrumloa has found some of the later cases then you will indeed have a VERY RARE A4000T.  I only saw two at the last Gateway Amiga show in St. Louis.  I know that a few units shipped but they were even more expensive then the generic ESCOM / AI A4000Ts.

Either way, if Red has found some NOS A4000Ts you should NOT miss this chance!

Regards,
Ltstanfo

Interested depending on price and spec.

On another note, I wonder if they will come complete with failing capacitors?  :-D  :-(

Oh, hell yeah. Everyone will want one, though, so I see a series of out-of-control auctions in our future.

No, I don't want to go that route. There should a substantial number of A4000Ts, I'll sell them at a modest (small) markup.

I will post more info when I get more. I'm pretty sure these are going to be the newest T towers. Complete system? Monitor not likely, but otherwise should be full.

I should have much more info very soon and yes, this is no joke.
