Maybe you should sketch a picture of what it is you're trying to do here? I don't think it's exactly clear to folks. Are you trying to add a second floppy or Gotek mounting location to the front of your A1000, to the left of the existing floppy drive?

I would like to put a Gotek in the FDD Bay, but I don't want to cut the front out.

I will never understand why people love Gotek's so much when WHDLoad is available, but a quick google image search turns up tons of mods that can be done without cutting or modifying the faceplate of the floppy drive.  See attached pictures (A500 and A1200, but should work on A1000 as well).  Good luck!

Probably the most compelling reason I can think of as that many of the ADFs have trainers options that I don't see in my whdload versions.

Additionally whdload requires a RAM expansion beyond 4mb to run larger games. I have a minimig 1.1 with 3.5mb RAM and it fails to load some games due to the limited RAM.

Gotcha.  I've never used a trainer or a MiniMig.  Guess I'm not their target audience.  :lol:
