I just noticed I lost a few icons on my AmiDock that were there before I installed 3.14 over my OS3.9 using Gulliver's script ? no big deal as I have another partition with only a clean OS3.14 just wonder why the icons disappeared?

This is just a guess due to insufficient information, but the Workbench preferences program has the "No NewIcons" option ticked by default in 3.1.4, and if you happen to have a NewIcon, it will not be displayed. So untick that option, save and reboot your machine and see if they now appear.

If this does not work, please confirm to what program the missing icons were for, so that I can try to help you in narrowing the problem you are having.

@deFriselle

3.2 does not exist. It was just 3.1 with changes on the Walker ROM to
acomodate its hardware and a SetPatch that changed the copyright
strings and audio cdrom support, nothing more.

On the numbering scheme, you should blame both Olaf and Thomas for
playing with MetaFont and loving the Pi number.  ;D

So, to sum up, 3.2 does not exist, but we are working on it  :-X

@kamelito

We hope we can release more often too!

@kirk_m

It is good that you solved it.
I will probably add this information to the FAQ, you never know who
might encounter the same issue.

By that logic 3.5 and 3.9 don't exist either

No, 3.5 and 3.9 existed, were released and sold as such. They were real products.

3.2 was not ever sold or marketed like that. It was mostly amiga enthusiasts that labeled it that way or hoped that 3.2 would exist in some form. Just wishfull thinking that something else beyond 3.1 was there when there wasn't.

Oddly the few Walker built and in the hands of collectors run it.
http://www.blachford.info/computer/walker/walker_working.html

Doesn't matter   We won't see any versions between 3.1.x and 4.x.x   Maybe after the litigation is settled and C-A Acquisitions gets to work

Well, you are wrong on both assumptions.  :)

Any answer from Frank Mariak about CGX incompatibilities with Intuition V45?

An unfriendly and negative answer I am afraid.

@my_pc_is_amiga

Hi,

Are you also the same person posting as "Castellen" in other Amiga forums?

I've posted too many things and so not sure which one you are referring to :)

Thomas was awarding virtual points to any user guessing some of the new features that 3.2  brings. You guessed one: a working stderr.

And it seems you are now near another, this one is very small. ;-)

It is up to Thomas to "spill the beans".

  And the other "wish" is a fix for the high res. pointer slanting on native amiga screens (and that one surely isn't an easy fix).   This has been there since 3.0...

Could you please try to describe with more detail this issue you find?

Easier to see with pictures:

a) NTSC Hires Laced with Hires pointer (aspect ratio is messed)
b) Multiscan with Hires Pointer (pointer looks okay).

On a Hires or Hires Laced PAL/NTSC screen with a Hires pointer the pointer will not be interlaced. Is this what you mean? On a Multiscan screen you will get a Hires pointer of a double vertical resolution too (640x480 which matches the screen mode). Remember also that the aspect ratio of 640x480 is different to 640x400 which does make a difference. I believe there is a program on aminet to Lace the pointer.

I was thinking the exact same thing. When the screen mode proportions change, so does the mouse pointer.

Side point -- getting the Intellifont template with the 3.1 version in the shell shows 1 option only, VALIDATE/S. In 3.1.4 it is VALIDATE/S, NODISKSCAN/S

NODISKSCAN
Disables the initial automatic disk scan.

What about if I just want to burn eprom, but not install OS3.1.4 update. Files on update floppy doens't seem to be ready modules?

Please refer to section 9.3 of the AmigaOS 3.1.4 FAQ.

Hi,

I tried to reproduce your issue on a clean 3.1.4(.1) system. But I could not. It just works as designed.

A 2 MB sample textfile (https://www.learningcontainer.com/sample-text-file/#2mb_text_file-2) loads fine and uses way less memory than what you describe.

Something is wrong exclusively in your system.

Mine has ansi ESC codes in it, for BOLD. Would that made a difference? What about the amount of lines? Mine has almost 67000.

It shouldn't.

But in any case,it does not hurt to try: if you can, share this file so that we can attempt to reproduce your issue one more time.
