Amiga 1200 crash after 10 seconds
« on: February 13, 2023, 11:10:28 AM »
Hi,
I think I made an error recapping my 2nd Amiga 1200. The first one is working fine but the second amiga crashes after about 10 seconds.
When I turn it on and wait a little the purple kickstart screen shows. The floppy get's inserted once or twice before the machine freezes.
The graphics screen gets random stripes and eventually result in a guru meditaition message.

Before I started the recap proces it worked just fine. Now it's unstable. Is there anyone who might know where what could be the cause? All capacitors seem to be in place. It must be some unstable line?

What if you completely remove the drive cable and its power?
I had one A1200 that did this and the drive had a short.

Everything is disconnected. It's just the mainboard with nothing else.
The strange thing is that it doesn't seem to matter if I remove or add C811 (this is used for the 5V line). Perhaps the capacitor itself is faulty as it seems a big thing having that there.
Still looking and messing around with it.
