Elbox has most of the stuff you need.

I don't know if you want a standard graphics card like Picasso or a typical PC VGA card?  With the latter, you probably need a customized case (unless you have a best friend named Dremel), and a zorro/PCI busboard.

Be warned, it's not easy nor cheap.

I had plans to towerize my A1200 as well, but decided to leave it as-is and rather work with the spare A4000 mobo I have.

A good option is the stylish D-Box 1200 tower system.  It is supplied ready to take the A1200 motherboard with all the cut-outs and motherboard mounts.

It also comes complete with a keyboard adapter and floppy/CD drive facias as well.

For future expansion, it can be used with the Mediator PCI busboard range (for network, graphics, sound and TV cards) and forthcoming busboards from the manufacturer.

The Mediator 1200LT4 and 1200SX both come with accelerator pass through adapters that allow the accelerator to plug onto the top of the Mediator which in turn slots onto the top of A1200 motherboard accelerator edge connector.

It connects via the expansion port and has a pass through for the accelerator too.

I have an auction on ebay for an a1200 tower, with motherboard here, if it interests you:

Or if you want to stick with original amiga stuff you could get one of these easily and valuable price from ebay

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=1390

It expands your amiga with 5 zorro II slots

or one of these

http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=1391

it adds 5 Zorro III slots wich are faster, but you need a3000/4000 style accelerator to get all benefits.

It's possible to use it with a1200 accelrator but it decrades Zorro slot to Zorro II
Lots of different cards can be added to amiga with this way

ACube Sam 440ep Flex 800mhz, 1gb ram and 240gb hd and OS4.1FE
A1200 Micronic tower, OS3.9, Apollo 060 66mhz, xPert Merlin, Delfina Lite and Micronic Scandy, 500Gb hd, 66mb ram, DVD-burner and WLAN.
A1200 desktop, OS3.9, Blizzard 060 66mhz, 66mb ram, Ide Fix Express with 160Gb HD and WLAN
A500 OS2.1, GVP+HD8 with 4mb ram, 1mb chip ram and 4gb HD
Commodore CDTV KS3.1, 1mb chip, 4mb fast ram and IDE HD

Well, you may get the idea here :)

You need it unless you buy a pre-modded tower for Amiga, like Amigakit suggests.

I'm doing it the Dremel way with my A4000.  It's cheaper, but requires more work.

I got a Mediator from Elbox and like you, was scared to fit it. However, oncde I bit the bullet, the instructions were easy to follow and as it's a well made board, it slotted together easily enough. The hardest part is actually putting the A1200 motherboard into the tower, everything else is much easier.

Once the mediator is fitted, the accelerator and PCI crads just slot in, like in a "real" pc ;) lol
