DigiBoosterPro 3: Public betatesting
« on: February 12, 2011, 01:40:59 PM »
After a long period of closed testing the DigiBooster 3 music tracker enters the public beta stage. The main goal of public betatesting is to check program core stability and performance on different operating systems and hardware configurations. Demo versions of DigiBooster 3 for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS are available for download on the official DigiBooster website. Please note that this is not a release candidate. Many important features still wait to be implemented. It is highly recommended to read a "readme" file after installation.

The key features of the new DigiBooster 3 are:

- Fully scalable MUI graphic interface with themes.
- New player engine, portable and AHI independent.
- Backwards compatible with DigiBoosterPro 2.x (the same module format).
- PowerPC native versions for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS.

Sweet! It works perfect on my PowerMac MorphOS 2.7 box. No skipping or anything. I like the new interface. Simple a clean.

This software has me VERY excited, especially onsidering that we still can't run OctaMED on MorphOS (why I don't know, OS 4 can).

I've only had the change to load it up, but have not had the time to play yet, but will tonight!!!

Thankx a ton to those who are working to put this together. And again I second the motion for MIDI support in later version, though I know CAMD needs to be ported over first.

Well...

I have not touched Digibooster since 1.x, so I'm not fully sure what to expect from this, but thus far it seems to have a nice interface, and I like the ability to boost the sound since MorphOS seems crippled with low volume at times.

I don't know if Digibooster has a full fledged Wav editor, but with this release I could not cut/copy/paste, etc. Though this is beta so perhaps that has not yet been added in if it exists.

If not, then may I suggest that ability complimented with infinite UNDO's. :)

That aside, I was able to write a track last night, but...

...didn't realize I could not save so the work got lost, but it was fun none the less, and have given me enough time with this software to want to register in the future.

Looks promising.

I could only get it (OS3/68k version) to work with Paula-modes, though.

It did not play when using 16-bit Prelude AHI modes.

(Tested with: A4000/060/AHI4.18/PicassoIV/Prelude/64MB RAM).

@XDelusion:If you haven't tried DigiBoosterPro 2.21 yet, you will probably be pleasantly surprised. It still is a brilliant tracker and a vast improvement over 1.x versions.
