aros screen resolution?

hi all,

i just installed the latest aros on an old ibm laptop. the only problem i have is that the screen resolution is stuck at 1600x1200 or so but it actually only does 1024x768. i can't do a thing in the preferences.

i think it's a savage 4 graphics card so it's not supported? ah, i just tried it and the option for 1024x768 is there at boot up and it works but i don't know how to make it default... ah it seems i have no sound. maybe i should move to a pc with a sb rather than the lappy? it seems speedy for a500 games though.

well i like what i see so far. i don't have sound. the chip seems to be a Crystal SoundFusion sb compatible. the blurb says "The system supports Sound Blaster audio applications." is there anything i can try on that? thanks.

i can't seem to do anything through prefs. i don't know what  i doing though!:lol:

oh well that rules out that lappy then. i guess those usb sound cards are out too?

ok so going on another idea a more modern laptop or netbook with an 8 gb pendrive? what's pro's and con's are there?

i have icarus, when i say aros i mean icarus, on the lappy already. i just wish icould have sound! it's only 800mhz so... i have a pc candidate but i also have a netbook. i prefer the netbook idea. it's an msi u135dx. i'm not sure if that's any better for sound options though. i went for this as i wanted xp.
