Ok, well after playing around with my "real" Amigas for a while now I'm giving AROS a try.  I've donated some cash and even signed up for the monthly donation.  I'm building an x86 machine right now to install it on and I've downloaded everything I need, I think.   :)

I've got a P4 1.7GHz machine with 768MB RAM, 20GB HD, Nvidia GeForce TNT video card, and on-board sound & NIC.  Will this system be good?

AROS is improving, it's fun, it's Amiga.

while I can't do much, the idea that I can plug my flash drive in someone else's system and show them a NEW (to them) OS is way, way, cool.
the no CARB diet- no Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld or Bush.
