A500 Rainbow Mania 2: 8 colour MicroGoldED (WB 3.1)
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: This was a bit tricky to do. MicroGoldED is not meant to be used on low colour screens, so you have to force colours with ModePro, then remap with VisualPrefs. I'm especially thrilled with the 2 rainbow shades giving a pseudo-transparency look to the context menus, selected text, scrollbars and titlebars. Karlos Posts:16867 | January 20, 2007, 04:15:27 PM That's seriously nice. I'd like to see my graphics card cope with that idea.... as if it could ;-) Drawing fullscreen vertically goraud shaded quads isn't exactly the least resource intensive method  Long live the copper! |

HopperJF Posts:1531 | August 03, 2005, 01:08:02 AM Computers are too easy to mess up these days, viruses and the like, if somethings wrong with an A500, bang in the workbench disk and do a cold boot, and you can sort it out with no big fuss |
mr_a500 Posts:865 | August 02, 2005, 01:39:17 AM I like the A500 because I've always liked the "computer in a keyboard" design and I feel that computers stopped being fun in the 90's. The A500 was the ultimate 80's computer. Quote ..its amazing what you can do with a 20 year old computer... Yes, exactly. It is even more amazing what you CAN'T do with a computer from 2005. (no screen flipping/dragging, no Help key, no window depth, unbelievably stupid registry preventing configuration/program backup... I could go on and on!) |
Cyberus Posts:5696 | August 02, 2005, 01:24:20 AM Nice work, the A500 is by far my favourite Amiga. Not necessarily the 'best', but I love it, I have tons of A500 bits and pieces beacuse its amazing what you can do with a 20 year old computer... |
