You'll probably see an RSS icon in the URL bar of of your browser.
RSS just specifies the format of an XML page that contains whatever information you want. The RSS files must include a Name and update time interval (usually 30 or 60 miniutes).In this case it is the latest news. RSS reader just fetch this URL for the RSS XML page and display the content.
I have feeds for weather info and use it to get tracking info for shipped purchases.
