What exactly is RSS?

I've heard it's some sort of notify system for news, so how does it work?

And why are you getting notified of Amiga news on Internet Explorer 7!?

:-)

So this program acts as a go-between from Amiga.org to your browser/POP3 or something, loading little snippets of news as and when they arrive?

After reading the archive info that blobrana provided I can see it uses PIPE: which to me rings alarm bells. The thing could open a serious can of backdoor/trojan worms.

For now I'll continue to reload the Amiga.org homepage and sit here with my pipe(/PIPE:) and slippers reading the daily news...
