Hmm.

As I understand it, there was an original (relatively serious)
bug of the ArticiaS, first discovered when used in a
desktop machine. Eyetech solved this with a chip on their
boards (looking somewhat different on the AONE-SE and the -XE).
Later, smaller, bugs of the board was considered
normal "day-to-day" considerations for such a relatively
new (desktop) board - something to be taken care of in
 software (in AOS4).

The theory of Alan (who, we must remember,  is a
competitor to Thendic) was that the hardware fix made
for the Pegasos (similar to the hardware fix on AOne)
had for some physical fitting reasons to have two GALs,
whereas they opted to include the software fix in the
spare space instead of doing it in the OS later. This
theory fits to some extent with Bill Buck mentioning that
"...it should really be done in hardware, not software...".

Guess we'll have to wait and see if BPlan has indeed
discovered some, to Eyetech unknown, mega-bug to
which they have the ultimate solution, or not. The fact
remains though, that if the April fix is indeed only to the
problems outlined above, testing it on an AmigaONE
without AOS4 (and the software fix it will supposedly
incooperate) is a rather moot exercise.
