Thought I'd take a break from arguing with my A500 rev. 5 mobo and do something easy.
WRONG!!!
So I've got the above motherboard and trying to load Icaros on it.
It has an Intel integrated video along with an 800 MHz Atom processor and 4GB RAM.
When I try to off my Icaros 2.03 DVD, I get to the GRUB menu where I'm supposed to select the video mode.
Only one that shows anything is the vga legacy mode which gets me as far as all the basic stuff loading up and then it hangs. All other video modes show absolutely nothing!
Tried a S3 Virge PCI video board and go into the BIOS and tell it to select the "external" video card. Save, reboot.
ALL video modes load up a different GRUB menu, one without the graphic background, just black and white text.
All modes load up the initial stuff and then hangs.
No matter which I use, either internal video or the external, I can't get to a desktop display. Just the initial stuff after the GRUB menu then black. No action from the DVD, so I know it's not still loading OS. Plus, I let it sit for about half an hour to make sure!
Has anyone successfully installed Icaros on the D510 motherboard? If so, how?
I don't think a Nvidia video board would make a difference, but I'm open if y'all think it help. If so, which one? Mobo only has 1 PCI slot.
Please comments.

Run AROS from the disc first, don't install it. When it is running format the hard drive from within AROS. You might be able to install from there as well.

Will try that.
Of course, that means I'll have to install Windows first! Right now it's nothing.

Well, tried running it from the disk and I get the Emulator Speed Warning screen with the "Press Any Key to Continue".
Press a key and nothing. Window goes away and nothing else happens.
Double checked my DVD on my main machine and it works fine.
Happens both when running from the DVD and when I copied all the files over to the local disk.
I really find it hard to believe Icaros won't run on this machine, but it's starting to look that way.
Does anyone else have an Intel D510 that they have installed Icaros on?

Okay, looks like there are no other D510 owners here, so how about Atom motherboards in general?
