Geminid meteor shower
« on: December 13, 2007, 07:48:37 PM »
Just  a reminder; the Geminid meteor shower peaks tonight...
If skies are clear, a strong showing of shooting stars is expected to begin about 9 p.m., with a possible peak of 30 to 60 meteors per hour between midnight and 2 a.m. Friday.

Bit clueless in this department so excuse my daft question but will this shower be visible from Glasgow and, if so, where in the sky?

Hum,
Just gaze randomly towards the East - South. (in the direction of the bright star; which is actually Mars)

Somehow I decided not to freeze my butt off this year to catch this one.  Maybe it's the fact that it's the first time in years and years there is 12+" of snow.

Doh! Looks like I've read your reminder a bit too late.
