Btw. wasn't such happening with Nokia cell phones too?

Nah, that was with dodgy third-party batteries. I think those didn't have a thermal failsafe causing them go boom in some instances.

Yup..and that was just the Dell sales reps  :-)

Personally, I think it was the first public outing of a new RIAA endorsed TPM chip.

Would now be a good tme to mention that Michael Dell is close personal friends of both Bill Gates and G.W. Bush?  It explains a lot.
