CanadaArm3 with Pegasos ODW

MacDonald, Detwiller & Associates is a Canadian company involved in US$ 1 Billion Robotic Crane for ISS (CanadaArm2 Project).

MDA Canada

This crane is buggy and the software should be patched to make it work.

From CNN:

"The cause of the delay -- a $1 billion, mobile crane attached to the station that has repeatedly experienced unexplained stiffness in one of its numerous joints during testing. The 58-foot (17-meter) robot arm, which shuttle astronauts installed in May, is designed to move like an inchworm across the modular complex, attaching itself to various power and computer ports on the outside. The robot arm has been plagued by technical woes during testing, including a persistent glitch with a backup computer command sequence that controls its shoulder joint. Voss and cosmonaut Yury Usachev had prepared for the possibility of going outside the space station to replace the control box for the joint. But on Friday, ground controllers said they had pieced together a software patch that should allow CanadaArm2 to work without the problem joint, making the spacewalk unnecessary."

"The STS-104 mission took off a month behind schedule because NASA was waiting for an all-clear signal on Canadarm2's performance. The agency was cautious because of an earlier malfunction in the computer back-up system on one of the arm's shoulder joints. Until NASA could be assured the arm was in perfect shape to install the station's joint airlock, the agency had to keep the shuttle and its crew grounded. In late June an engineering team from NASA, the CSA and MD Robotics determined that the joint was fine, it was a computer chip in the joint causing the intermittent communications error. Solving the glitch with what NASA called a "software patch," the team hoped to prevent similar disturbances by "telling" the arm to ignore erroneous communications that could come from the chip while maneuvers are being carried out."

Mr Bill Buck said that the future CanadaArm3 Project for ISS will use Pegasos ODW.
If the CanadaArm3 is also buggy, does this mean the powerful Amiga Curse also follow the project to outer space?
Will MDA.CA become another victim of Amiga Curse?

it should be noted that STS 104 launched in July 2001.

From NASA website:
"STS-100 (April 19, 2001) Delivers Canadarm2 to International Space Station Endeavour and its crew spent almost 12 days on orbit, eight of which were spent in joint operations with the International Space Station crew."

"Articia S chipset and Teron CX Evaluation Board have become available since August 2001"

I hope CanadaArm2 did not use Embedded PowerPC system with  MAI Logic chipset.
