Partial solar eclipse will be visible from Scotland on Monday - weather permitting.
In Glasgow, the phenomenon will begin about 8.52am, reaching mid- eclipse around 10am and finishing at 11.12am.
In Aberdeen, Scotland, 43% of the sun will be covered up, first contact is at 7:55, and Maximum at 09:02 UT.
If the skies are clear it will be visible from every part of Scotland with slight time variations.
Of course, the annular eclipse of the Sun will be visible elsewhere as well…
A narrow corridor of the eclipse path traverses the Iberian Peninsula and stretches across the African continent.
In Madrid at 08:59 UT, for four minutes eleven seconds, 90% of the sun will be covered.
This is the fourth annular eclipse of the 21st century. The next
total solar eclipse (which will be better sight) is on 29 March, 2006. It will traverse equatorial West Africa, the Sahara, the western Mediterranean, Turkey and Russia.
