Hum,
There is an interesting article about i-RAM, a memory solution/replacement of slow magnetic based Hard Drives…

[color=ff00ff]<[/color]image gone[color=ff00ff]>[/color] :(

It just slots into a PCI slot and you boot directly from that…and very quickly…

Yeah,
That was the main point...

Though, i could imaging that a smaller drive could be used for paging files or application temp files (ie photoshop) or when the system tops out on the Mobo ram..
