Mobile Phone are bad for youngsters?!?
« on: September 13, 2004, 09:42:07 AM »
Greetings,

Does frequent exposure to mobile emissions are dangerous?

http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,31500-13221330,00.html

Next time we see a mobile, I'll have a label "Keep out of Reach of children!" :-?

Regards,

Gizz

I never knew frequent use of mobile phones can be dangerous to health. All I know is that it could blow up a gas refilling station and you could get killed with it by refusing to give it up to hold uppers! :-D( very common in our country, right sir gizz?!...)

The answer is simple: WE DON'T KNOW. If there is an effect, it is bound to be very long-term, and very subtle. There are so many users out there that the statistics are beginning to look quite firm on this. Even the heart-wrenching story of the tumor 'caused by the mobile phone' is very likely no more than a case of very, very bad luck.

However, I am all for the idea of restricting the use of those dang mobiles: you cannot sit quietly in a public room anymore without someone's technological fetish performing a bad reproduction of a popular ditty. *And* then spending many minutes in a loud voice talking about who did it with whom, or discussing things which really should stay private (loans, medical reports, parole offenses).
Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.

Like I said, you would all know the possible hazards you can think of on frequent use of mobile phones if you happen to be in our country where mobile phones are no longer necessity but part of our body. :-D You can never live in the Philippines without it. :-D

Hehe. If we could just classify it as a toy, instead of a communication device, then they could be stopped! :-D

I have a cell-phone, I use it daily; both at work and for private matters.
Thing is that I actually have a phone. Most people have Gameboys with phone-capability built-in. :-x

I have one. It would be your funeral ;-)

As it goes, despite owning one I totally sympathise with your view. I use it only when needed and still feel like a tit every time it rings

Hey Speel, Big Brother, Friends, Jackass and Britney Spears are popular. I think that says everything I think about popular things.

Well... I am a "conscientious mobile owner." I never leave the house without silencing it.

fair enough

But I think your view considering mobile phones is quite a bit exaggerated. Tis not all misery like irritating ringtones being played in the middle of a movie in the cinema, or during classes. I mean, I think it should be seen (and be used) as a usefull tool.
My mobile phone has shown me more than once being extremely usefull, especially outside home.

:-) YOU would probably want to do that even if they didn't want to use one.
