For Sale: Clyde Tombaugh's 16-inch f/10 telescope!
The mirror was completed around 1944, and was hand-ground, figured, and completed by the discoverer of Pluto himself.

A bit of history there, me thinks...

I've hand ground and figured a six-inch f8 parabolic mirror and I can tell you, it's hard and mentally demanding work.
Hand-making a sixteen-inch mirror would have required enormous effort and dedication. It's a prodigious task that few, if any, would attempt today. Pity none of that will figure in the eventual sale price, I guess.
