My Workbench running in AGA (not RTG here!) | ||

Description: Amiga 1200 AGA 030 50mhz 64MB RAM 650x512 + some over-scan running in 256 colours (good speed/resolution compromise!) OS 3.9 Visual Prefs FullPalette MagicMenu (also using the same blue colour scheme) (not currenly using FBlit/FText as they were causing image issues) Here's some grabs taken on the same computer using a screen capture program. It's taken a long time for me to setup my OS 3.9 install but it's been worth it :-D Picture Stats: Views: 1267 Filesize: 158.65kB Height: 768 Width: 1024 Posted by: NovaCoder at March 25, 2009, 09:54:38 PM Image Linking Codes

NovaCoder Posts:1694 | March 26, 2009, 10:22:09 PM Yes lack of chipram is always an issue with AGA I'm afraid As you can see from the first pic, I have about 1.2 MB left before opening any windows. This seems to be enough to run all of the WHDLOAD games/demos that I've tried so far (fingers crossed). When Ratte releases the new HighGFX Extreme driver which will include a 640x512 mode I'll give that a go to see if gives me anything over the standard PAL driver. I used to run with HightGFX at 1024x768 but could only manage to use 64 colours (and the rez also screwed with my screen size when running PAL games). I'm still amazed at what AGA can do when setup properly, it looks so much better than when I first got it running a standard 3.1 install. :-D |
