Amiga A4000D - Painting
« on: August 18, 2023, 04:15:18 PM »
Hi

After looking on Amibay I saw some fronts facias for A4000D being made. One of the colour options was "RAL Grey White 9002".

I have painted my black CD-rom, dark grey GOTEK and brown Cuma floppy with it and very happy, although maybe not not quite creamy enough to match my yellowed A4000 perfectly but a great improvement!

Regards

Barry

Hi,

I’m the one on Amibay organizing the front panel group buy. I have a NOS 5 1/4” drive cover and used an colour measurement device to determine its color and RAL9002 came very very close. Hence, we (initial buyers of the powder coated front panels) decided to go for this shade.

If it is not creamy enough, it seems to me that your front panel had darkened already a bit.

Hi

Thanks, those panels do look the business, and I am glad you put the RAL code in the description. I love the look of my LCD monitor (no changed from silver) and cheap speakers (changed from black) and my mix mash of CD-rom, floppy drive and Gotek look so much better!

Looking next to my A1200, is looks more like a match. But I have never had a A4000 from new so I don't really know what they should look like!

Keep up the good work.
