Neat idea for the 8-bit systems.
For Amigas, I'll still use a network connection.
Amiga legacy or NG is a bit more competent that way than the 8 bit systems.
And generally we don't really need BBS' anyone, as our systems have no problem with the  more graphically orient web environment.
