I just picked up a Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio) with dual 1.8Ghz processor, 1.5GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 and DVDRW for $100.00 flat, local pickup. This is almost perfect for today's supported hardware, with the exception of the Radeon 9800 not having 3D support yet.
I wonder how long until the 9800 is supported for 3D? Time for setup, great stuff! Might be registering MOS today, which I did not do with the eMac...

Well done. 1.8ghz....Sonnet ?? The Digital Audio didn't go that high.

Cool, Is that the fastest NG AmigaOS machine currently available?

redrumloa, wow, I'm so envious of your new MorphOS machine, well done!
spihunter, while this is probably the fastest MorphOS system around, the fastest NG Amiga OS machine would be a PC running Aros.

Thanks!:afro:
I'd guess it is the fastest binary compatible NG AmigaOS variant, by processor speed at least.

Wow! I could I forget about AROS?. I wasn't thinking!
I actually had AROS broadway running on my 3ghz Core Duo Dell with 8GB of ram for a little while. It was damn fast!. I eventually had to install Win 7 on the machine to do some work with After Effects. I'm sure I'll have another go at AROS again.

My 1.8 Sonnet processor would fit in a Digital Audio. I don't have the extra 512MB Red has, but I've got an SB Live audio card and an NEC based USB 2.0 card.
And I've order a Radeon X800 XT video card that is supposed to work in my G4 (no drivers at all for this but the development team says R400 is to be supported in the future).
Then again, I spent a bit more than Red (the processor card cost me 4150, everything else was under $100).
So Red does have the bragging rights.
King of the Second Hand Macs!

Here is mine:
Dual 800mhz G4, 1.5GB of Ram, Superdrive, Radeon 9000 and a 23" cinema display!
I got it all for free! Saved it from the trash at work.

It should beat many WinUAE configurations, too.

LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY!
Not to dis on MorphOS, after all I am a VERY happy user, but it is not fully binary compatible. A lot of PPC games still do not run or run proper. OctaMED Sound Studio still does not load without locking the machine up, etc. etc. There is still a lot of work that needs done in that department.
Though there are still a lot of classic apps that do run perfectly or near perfect, not to mention the fact that the apps written for MorphOS are very nice!
I just wanted to point this out for those looking to buy MorphOS and expect everything to work.
And yes, I know some apps make direct calls to chips which are not in the hardware MorphOS runs on, but even still, some of those apps load up fine on OS4, so with this in mind, I'm sure that the MorphOS team could eventually get them working on MorphOS as well.

just clearing up some confusion, I was asking Red if it was a sonnet!. I was just sayin the vanilla Digital Audio didn't go past 1ghz ;)
