General Internet News / Re: Hyperion Bankruptcy Looming
« Last post by RetroPassion on April 17, 2024, 01:11:46 PM »
Its far to early to speculate what is going to happen and in fact its not Hyperion in trouble, if you read the document carefully it is in fact Ben Hermans BV which is the company facing liquidators and that company holds 97% of shares in Hyperion, Hyperion itself is fine and is an asset. So the actual proceedings has not been read correctly from the source linked above. It is simple business Symantec's at play here and it happens every day in the business world.

We have just ordered more copies of AmigaOS 3.2 and they are on their way to us and until there is a clear indication of what is actually happening we will continue to do so. Its been a while since we have had a big Amiga drama :-)

Just tried sending you a message. Now says “Blocked by F0LLETT”…….

When someone can't handle the truth it seems.

Go into your private messages and click ignore list. It will block what ever user you add.
Try PM'ing me, I add you to ignore list. Post here once sent, I will check to see what happens. Have to be fair, never ever used ignore feature in 24 years of using SMF.

Goto messages, preferences, change settings, then check the block pmdrop down is set to "all members, except those on my ignore list"
You can also setup rules, whereby you can just tell it to look for certain users and delete message instantly.

This is interesting. I had an ignore list setup due to harassing messages from a Kent Reseller on here. Unfortunately it seems that  my ignore list got wiped. Now received more harassing messages from this Kent reseller again! 😳
Anyone else?

Harassment is a criminal offence, so report it to the Police (by contrast defamation is a civil offence). If it's online you should keep the messages as evidence.

So, according to the cards docs, the controller, needs termination. This is in place, the 3 terminator packages are installed, in the correct orientation. I checked them with a multi-meter, and between pin 1 and 2, its showing 164, and the rest the same, and the last pin is approx 94. All the packages respond the same.

The manual also says that the hard drive i.e. the BlueSCSI needs to be terminated as well, and it does this, auto-stylie.

And yet, it still does not working. Checksum errors on configuring it, quiting the scsi app, and after formatting.

I also tried my known good ZuluSCSI and it acts almost exactly the same.

Which Kickstart ROMs are you using? SCSI.device is at which Version? Don’t forget older Kickstarts and SCSI.Device can be factors here. Especially with partition sizing etc…

Recommended Amiga Dealers / Re: Experiences with Retropassion in UK?

absolutely fine here.
They went the extra mile on a re-cap job on an A600 of mine and re-did the audio as well, as one side was scratchy and crackly.

i did have a couple of other questions i sent, but no answer to email... not sure if "hotmail.co.uk" is blocked by default these days...  ;D

i would now however, in a post brexit world, be very weary of EU<->UK shipping/post, and related time/tax+import charges.
i note that all the ebay A2000's based in germany usually state "no shipping to UK"  :(
i've had a vendor setup an additional office in Holland purely so they can get stuff out to EU offices. as otherwise it's an absolute joke. thanks brexit.

You were lucky…. Wish I never had anything to do with . The guy messes up and you the customer are at fault 😔
If you mention anything about his F’UPs on a particular Forum he seems to now run riot on, you get accused and then banned by Admins he pays off 🤔 Or worse, he gets his devouted Followers to try and back him up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He has been banned off Amibay for buying and then reselling peoples gear for 3 times the price! 😳
If you go against anything he does, he takes it on a personal mission to stalk you! Recently had creepy messages off him on here! 🙄

My advice. Stay Clear! Look elsewhere! As elsewhere is normally cheaper 😉

@Boing-ball

Absolutely, thats why we took the decision to not distribute or commercialise any software that is under dispute such as "OS 3.1.4" and "OS 3.2".

Will be a shame though, if no more AmigaOS development took place 😔 Was looking forward to AmigaOS 3.3. 🤞🏻 Something gets sorted
