Title: Amiga 1200 and 1.8 inch PCMCIA iPod Hard Drive
Post by: fortina on March 28, 2018, 12:38:33 PM
Is it possible to use an old Toshiba 1.8 inch hard drive out of an iPod classic in the PCMCIA slot on the left of the Amiga 1200 and have it boot from it? As far as I can tell these drives are IDE?

I guess my first question is, why would you want to do this? ;)

This thread has a couple tips on booting from a device in the PCMCIA slot:

Obviously you will need to source whatever kind of physical adapters are required...

If it's the one I'm thinking of, my answer would be yes.  It's just a standard CF sized microdrive.  You may have to tinker with the settings to get HDTookbox to recognize the full capacity.

It is standard IDE.
