My interests are varied, I'm very into fitness and either swim or gym daily (when not biking of course), plus I also enjoy reading and writing.  I'm in the middle of typing up my memoirs and sending them around to my mates for their criticisms and so far the feedback has been generally quite encouraging.

Eh? Memoirs? Are you already feeling that old? :-P

I like reading, but not generally fiction, mainly science and history books. I like writing too, and I'm planning to be a professional author one day. I'm fascinated by anything scientific. I don't have many interests beyond that, apart from chatting to friends on IRC and subjecting the unwary denizens of Amiga.org to my opinions. Computing apart from that isn't fun any more.

Wayne, I'd stick with the aircraft hobby if you can afford it. If you enjoy it, all the better, but it will get you places, and I don't just mean physically. Things like that are always good on a resumé, and who knows, you could launch it into a career. Certainly it's more eyecatching than "Uh, I read books."

@wayne:
Oh about flying your own aircraft: I'd suggest you take another look at ULV/MLA aircraft :-).
At my size, 6'4" and 310#, Ultralights are not really feasible.  Besides, the reason for my desire to fly isn't necessarily to flitter around the airport.  I want to be able to have the freedom to quickly fly myself and friends to other cities that normally take up to 5 hours to drive.  Like Atlanta, Memphis, New Orleans, etcetera.  I hate driving these long distances, as it's usually a tremendous bore on the interstates.  If I could fly to New Orleans from Huntsville in about 2 hours rather than the normal 6, then I'm all up for that.  Problem is the expense involved.

The best I could ever hope for is to struggle to get my license (money wise) then find a single seater for the upcoming "recreational pilot" category.  Even then, the costs may prove too restrictive.

As do I, but cooking to me falls more in the category of "enjoyable necessity" than hobby.  After all, no one cooks food just for the purpose of the enjoyment of cooking.

Hehe.  I haven't really led that interesting a life, so I've tried to make it slightly ironic and include as much history as possible.  Of course, everyone knows that Germany beat England on penalties at Italia '90, but I tried to capture the mood of the moment.

It's certainly not for general consumption, but I enjoy doing it...

Good attempt at being completely off topic.

Back on topic...I like cooking too. It all depends on whether you have to cook for someone else, as that can stop you being adventurous.

Some of the most interesting dishes require lots of fresh ingredients, and its difficult to have everything you need in a kitchen, especially if you live away from the big cities and don't have any specialist grocers nearby...ahh, why can't I have a kitchen like those television chefs do...

But yeah, cooking definitely. :-)

Chris,

The velocity XLRG is, indeed very, very nice.  I'd rather buy a working aircraft though than piece it together in my garage.

I used to be obsessed with programming, now I'm obsessed with music (composition, performing, singing, piano).

I study martial arts (Hapkido & Kendo)

Skydiving (only gone a couple times, dying to go again)

School (for music).

Reading, primarily fiction and existentialist writing, and books on music theory.

Like to go to the goth clubs and dance...gave up smoking and don't drink much anymore so I'm not usually there too long.

Also have a long attachment to lizards, especially bearded dragons (used to raise a few, hoping to get one again soon)
