Well it sounds exciting, but how does it work? In other words, how are the Toaster's inputs emulated? Does *UAE emulate Toasters/Flyers now? (I haven't been keeping up with development)

This is a very early Alpha version. Toaster inputs are not emulated yet. Be thankful that some development has finally started on this exciting Emmy Award winning Amiga add-on card. The Video Toaster is probably the most famous add-on the Amiga platform ever had.

Can you provide more information please? I don't get it: AFAIK, the Switcher is used to switch between various video inputs - which are part of the VT hardware, no? What does a software switcher that doesn't actually require the VT hardware actually do, i.e. what does it switch?
The readme seems to indicate you can compile a list of effects (to be used for switching, I guess) and save those settings - that's about it, unless you have a toaster?
Also: what license has the source code been released under? I downloaded the iso you offered a few days ago (thanks), but it doesn't contain any information regarding licensing.

These are early times in this Alpha software release. There is no way to do hardware switching yet. This software allows to you run the Video Toaster's interface and hopefully soon 3rd party software that came out for the Amiga Video Toaster. Consider yourself an alpha tester with this free software. If you enjoy it and want more features/functionality added send us an e-mail with your requests.
