Which one is better for WB2.1 with SCSI CD drive? :hammer:

Well, actually AmiCDFS is the only one which is available to you semi-legal.

AsimCDFS is a commercial product. Unfortunately you cannot buy it any more.
CacheCDFS is a commercial product. You get it if you buy either OS 3.5, OS 3.9 or IDE-fix (a.k.a. IDE-max).
AllegroCDFS is a commercial product. You get it if you buy a matching hardware from Elbox, but it needs this hardware as a dongle, otherwise it does not run.
AmiCDFS is shareware, but I think the author no longer cares.

There is also BabelCDFS, but it's targeted more towards WB 1.3.

DVDs can be recorded in a standard filesystem or mixed.

AllegroCDFS support only DVD-Video UDF 1.02

Now virtually all programs recorded in the mixed or UDF 1.50 and higher.

I'm going to jump here and ask another question.

Where can you download/buy the most recent version of AsimCDFS?

I see aminet has an older version, but would prefer to go with the most recent version.

I have had some trouble with 3.10 (the newest - I think) and dropped back to 3.8. This still my favorite software for the CD/DVD on my A2000.
Version 3.10 shows up on ebay every now & then - but be careful, a lot of them are bootlegged, and do not work correctly.

Strange, I have 3.10 on my 2000 with GVP combo 030/40Mhz, works fine.

AllegroCDFS support DVD UDF 1.02

They say so, but in practice it's of no use. I tried many DVDs with both CacheCDFS and AllegroCDFS. What could be read by AllegroCDFS could be read by CacheCDFS, too. And what could not be read by CacheCDFS could not be read by AllegroCDFS, too. So AllegroCDFS is not a single bit better than CacheCDFS.

Is there anyway to force AsimCDFS to work only in Joliet mode as default?

So Amigans, I have just got my CD-Rom up and running alas no audio, from what I have been reading I need AsimCDFS to play audio from Paula, but annoyingly it is a commercial product that is not for sale anywhere.

Doe anyone know of any other filesystems readily available so I can get CD audio from my Amiga

AllegroCDFS does not seem to be available from Elbox anymore

@ spudmiga

The "Amiga Audio" option in AsimTunes is really just a workaround for listening to music CDs in that program only. To really integrate a CD drive into your system (i.e., to enable CD audio for every program that supports it), you need to connect the audio output of the CD drive to speakers or a mix it with your Paula output. Unfortunately, it looks like the mixer solution from AmigaKit that I mentioned in my previous post is no longer available. But this and this seem to be the successors to the powered and unpowered mixers I mentioned previously. If you fix things at the hardware level then it doesn't matter which CDFS you use--they all support analog CD audio.

If your heart's set on AsimCDFS, though, try over at EAB (which has a more liberal policy towards sharing discontinued commercial software) or eBay. I see several copies on there at the moment.

Some CDFS support access to audio as files, so you could use e.g. play16 to play those anyway you like or import directly into Samplitude for example.

you could use playCDDA or songplayer.

I remember some CDROM drives allow the player to play through the SCSI cable
