Prebuilt AmigaOne Systems by Eyetech

Eyetech has posted information on their prebuilt systems.

"Initially we will be offering two prebuilt configurations, each available with either the AmigaOneG3-SE or the AmigaOne-XE G4 motherboards. Both systems will be shipped with Linux PPC and the UAE emulator installed, the full SuSE Linux PPC distribution (6 CD's and manual) and motherboard documentation on CD."

Since I have not seen a consise list of OS4 supported hardware.

I have a thought....

The hardware spec of these boxes is more or less garanteed  to be OS4 supported so I now have a "guide" of compatible hardware.....

I think "If it's not on the Eyetech box don't use it..."

No to my local Amiga Distributer and get a box built... (I will be doing that Saturday :-)

I was kinda thinking the same thing, if Eyetech are bundling it, then it should work!

The good news is that all I have to get is an ATI gfx card! The rest of my PC can be gutted and put into my A1. Yay! So only another £100 on top of my £580! :lol:

Hmm, does anybody know if I will get free Linux and UAE if I order only the motherboard? I thought so after reading the original press release., but now I'm not completely sure anymore.

According to a post to the A1 list you'll get a minimum SuSE installation CD (or 2) with the mobo, so the hardest part will be done for you. Afterwards, if you want more apps you can just download them with ftp (dirt easy, I've tried it. Read the manual first though: some things should not be updated over ftp when the system is booted normally).

Actually, the SuSE boxed set with manual doesn't contain 6 CDs, but 8.

Apart from hardware for me is also important the look of my new Amiga. Now I`m watching my Amiga4000 and I like it very much, I want to have the same feeling when I look my new Amiga. (Mac users will understand me more I think)

Does anyone knows if there are any plans of making an Amiga case and keyboards?

I like the AMIGA logo that is incised on every Amiga
