Error 3 on writing
« on: November 06, 2008, 12:18:24 PM »
I ever use <4Gb hard disks. Today I tried to partition a 80 Gb and get this error "error 3 on writing" when saving the partition in HDToolBox. I partition the hard disk using <4gb limit (1 partition with 500Mb, 1 partition with 1,5Gb,1 partition with 1.5Gb and the rest without partition). What is wrong?

P.S.: I will use the 3.1 Workbench.

Thanks,

3.1 will not handle it.
you need 3.5 or higher, or use alternative filesystem + scsi patch
too lazy to use shift key properly...

I ever think that what I do was correct since I partition less than 4Gb (because of the 32 bits pointers original disk access management). This means that I need ever a <4Gb hard disk to use the 3.1 Workbench without any patches. Thanks for he answers.

Best regards,
