Cool.

I just have my ol Amiga 1000, (not that, thats bad).. it was my sole computer until 1999. I used it from 1985 to 1999! It has the RAM expansion, OS 1.3, buttload of software (more than my new PC) lol. Also when I was younger I changed the lights in it to yellow... I liked it for some reason (I still do).. probably a weird idea to yall.

Hope you enjoy amiga.org. A lot calmer discussions

I personally have (apart from the C64)  an A500, two A1200:as and an A4000/060 that is my main machine. Sadly never had an A1000  :-(

Hope to get an AONE soon though... :-D

Hi A1000JH :-)

I run a A3000.  All ZORRO slots full.  060 clocked as fast as it will
go.  RAM slots full of 32Mb simms :-) In a home built tower.  Saving
for a Mediator3000D for 6 ZORRO slots and 5 PCI and I hope a SharkPPC.

Plus a A600 for gameing.  No wintel (never, ever).

In response to your query, I own:

:-D 1 @ Amiga 4000 with:
   CyperStormIII 68060@50MZ/604e@233MZ
   PicassoIV graphics card
   X-Surf network card

:-D 1 @ Amiga 3000 with:
   WarpDrive 68040@25MZ
   CyberGraphics graphics card
   NewTek Video Toaster
   X-Surf network card

;-) The above two are networked to my (only) PC with Samba.

:-) 1 @ Amiga 2000 with:
   Opalvision graphics card
   Supra SCSI controller
   MegaChip chip RAM expansion

:-) 2 @ Amiga 500s, one with:
   GVP Series II SCSI controller

:-) 3 @ Amiga 1000s, one with:
   Two external memory expansion units,

--And other goodies that I can swap from one machine to another, such as external Zip drives, SyQuest Drives, CD ROMs, etcetera.  As you can see, my many ‘miggies are a serious hobby for me.  And that’s not counting seven of the old Commodore computers.  Of course, I do not hold the record on this forum.  There are almost certainly other folk with more Amiga stuff than me.

Welcome A1000JH......

Myself? Well I entered the Ami camp in '88, having started out on CBM devices such as the C64, SX64, and C128D.

From a 1.2 KS A500, I moved on to an A2000HD which currently is 060 powered, runs a multiscan from a PicassoII card, and access' data from 4 SCSI HDDs, 1 CD-ROM, and a HP Scanjet.

Its my e-communications gateway, and prints through a 24 pin and a Deskjet printer.

( Shortly, it should be joined by a Black Tower encasing the fabled A1 XE 800Mhz newcomer to the Ami fold! )

Other Amis hanging about in this room include an A1200HD and a modified CD32.

Powerpufffan,

Wishful thinking (unfortunately).  Back in the late 80's, the AMIGA was used by the US military.  I personally know about its use as a orbital mechanics simulator on an earlier version of the missile program that I work on.  Unfortunately, the AMIGA dissapeared from my program around 1990 because the software didn't keep up and the horsepower started to fall behind.  I have heard (but do not know for sure) that other programs used the AMIGA in varying capacities until the early 90's.  I have been told about a few other programs but I have never been able to verify that AMIGAs were actually used.

By today's standards of graphics and simulations, the classic AMIGA is (sadly) way behind.  Now before you go and mention the new generation of AMIGAs please keep in mind that they will have to be in widespread circulation and have a clear line of support before they can even be propsed for a government contract.

Oh yeah, in responce to the original post of this thread, my AMIGA is as follows:

C= A4000T (NOT ESCOM PRODUCED, motherboard #16)
Cyberstorm MK III '060
Cybervision PPC
128MB RAM
CD+RW
Multiface III
Video Toaster / Flyer
18GB HD (AMIGA use)
30GB HDs (Toaster use)

Regards,
Lee Stanford

I have

*1200 unexpanded
*1200 with 030 50Mhz 16Meg CDrw  4gig HD
*CD32 with SX1 2gig HD  8meg
*PC with Amithlon on it
and the machine I normally use is
A4000 in a power tower with Cyberstorm PPC, Cyber vision PPC, 146meg ram ,2 x 9.1 gig HD's, CDrw, CDrom, Hyper I/O card, Ariadne II, Pelude Z2, HD floppy drive.
The only problem is its all getting so old and bashed around its becoming very unstable.

Can't wait for a nice new one ;-)

Got myself 2 A1200's (unexpanded) and one A500, all three working perfectly. Running AOS3.9 under UAE on a laptop.

Began my voyage into Amigaland around '86 I think, when the A500 was released in Sweden. Never abandoned it since.  :-D

And will get a AmigaOne as soon as I have the money to place an order on the best system for sale. (but will still use the trusthworthy A1200's :)

Welcome to Amiga.org!  Please wear flame-retardant material at all times.  :-D
I've got an Amiga 4000T (Escom) and a CD31 with an SX strapped to the back to make ia a slightly more effective (but less expandable) A1200.  Before that I had LOTS of Commodore 128's with all the latest goodies.  Just missed "Wheels" and only in the last few years let my subscription to "Loadstar" die. So yeah, I'm a die-hard.  Real passionate about my 'miggy, too.

A1000JH,

That was a cool sound track... hey if I don't go after this A1000, would you be interested in it?  The guy said he will sell it in single components (part it out) if he can't get someone to buy the whole thing.  I'd hate to see that happen :-(

to answer your earlier question, ive got every "commodore" model thats been released, an a500 with 1 meg expansion in the belly, a570 cd-rom, os 2.04 roms, and an a1200 060/50 with 64 megs ram, 2 2.5 gis hds, 12 speed cd-rom, zip drive, partially towered, a1200 is my main puter, next to me linux box... :-D

"I am curious, what different Amiga models do y'all have?"

Well, at the moment, I have:

2x A500
Which are both bog standard with the exception of one of them having a 512k ram expansion installed. One of them is using KS 1.2 and the other 1.3. Good for playing games but not much else at the moment.

1x A1200
Which is also bog standard but is using KS 3.1. However, I have an old AT desktop case which I am modding up to hold this machine if that helps.  :-D

Not that I can use any of them properly at the moment though, cause the commodore mouse that I was using is currently busted.  :-x

I also am the former owner of an A2000, With twin 2091 scsi cards, both maxed out with ram and with their own 50mb scsi hard drive each. Arg, it's been so long since I've owned it, I can't really remember any more details than that.

Greetings Joshua.  We share a last name!  Hello!  Got any relatives in Northern Ohio, US?

Aaaand, I also still use my A1000.  I have a whole stack of them actually, 10 at last count.  I guess play with them would be a better phrase, but that's better than using them like one would a word processor or some other 'productive' but non-fun application.

Welcome to the forum.

Well, no I don't have any relatives in Ohio, but that doesnt mean we dont share any. Do you know where your family comes from? :-)

Oh, then we probably aren't related in any way. The name "HORN" comes from three different cultures, British, Dutch and Ashkenazi.. mine is Ashkenazi.
