Orinoco gold just supports 128 bit WEP as standard, the silvers are 64 bit.

You are right,well for the most part. The lucent cards with the white connector support TKIP also,which is a fix for WEP. It is basically a patched WEP as i understand it which fixes some problems. Still not as good as WPA/WPA2. Apparently the netgear MA401 is the only easy to find card ideal for WPA/WPA2 once the firmware is fixed.

@amigaclassicsrule:

I was wrong, Go with the netgear ma401. As for something to flash the pcmcia cards,your best bet may be to get a pci to pcmcia card adapter if you have the pcmcia slot free.

Guys is this what I need to install in my PC in order to give my PC the ability to read PCMCIA cards?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PCMCIA-CARD-READER-3-1-2-IDE-3-1-2-INTERNAL-ISA-/280403552489

If that is the case, then all problem will go away. All I have to do is follow the instruction, flash the netgear card and have it support wpa/wpa 2 finally allowing my Amiga 1200 to be WiFi supported.

no that wont work,that is a ISA card reader and only intended for memory cards etc.

something like this should work if you have a free pci slot in a desktop :
machine:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RATOC-REX-CBS52-PCI-to-PCMCIA-16-32-bit-Dual-Slot-CardBus-Reader-RICOH-5C486-/280916176989?pt=US_Internal_Port_Expansion_Cards&hash=item4167e8b05d

a little searching and you should be able to find new ones.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MECHY!! So all I need is to get RATOC REX-CBS52 PCI to PCMCIA 16 32 bit Dual Slot CardBus Reader RICOH 5C486 and my PC have the ability to read PCMCIA cards. When I have this installed, I just follow the instructions in that website and I will be upgrading the netgear to support wpa/wpa 2. With these instructions I should finally have my Amiga 1200 support WiFi with WPA/WPA 2 encryption ability and I can finally access the internet on my A1200 through WiFi.

Thank you guys all for your help.
