reinstalling it on my newly fixed up 1200T with Mediator1200 LT4 and requester to insert CDDA device keeps popping up at startup?? CD-Rom working fine so wondering if the Mediator is interfering with anything?

The CDROM mountlist entry or CD file system is the cause; you should be able to correct it to not look for an audio CD.

IDEFIX installed? It's given me so much grief over recent years I remove it from my machines when the opportunity presents.
