Hi -

The reason you are getting a black and white picture in composite is that the C65 you have is a PAL model - as were the great majority of the units from Commodore. Its not a defect.

The power supply for the C65 was rated at 2.2 amp at 5 volts. This is quite a bit more than the one you are using. Wether the C65 actually drew that much I don't know.

The C65 power supply is essentially the same as used by the CD32 - perhaps the CD32 imposed a greater load.

I would appreciate it very much if you could tell me what the frequencies are for the 2 oscillators near the top of the motherboard.
