People named after computers
« on: September 02, 2003, 11:55:52 PM »
In Sweden, there's one woman with the first name "Amiga" (which really could have something to do with the Spanish translation of the word).

But get this: There's also one woman with the name "Atari"!

No Swedish men are currently named after these two computers.

Edit: Although, there is one man named "koder". I wonder what he works with... We also have two men called "Linux", but no women.

For all you swedes: Statistiska CentralbyrÄns namnsökning
Amiga: Too weird to live, too rare to die.

Cats?

My wife and I adopted two cats about two years ago and named them after a comic strip we like.  The comic strip's name is "PC and Pixel", but rather than using "PC" as a name we used the Irish version "riamhaire", which we changed to "Reevara" to avoid confusing our vet.  They fit in pretty well with our other seven cats :)
