Due to problems at home, I haven't got much space at the moment. I've got an Amiga A1200 which I fitted with a 2Mb PCMCIA card, with the brand name "MELCARD". I've used this for some time, but due to a lack of space recently, my Amiga was in a far less than ideal position, in a large carrier bag on the floor, with the PCMCIA card inserted and sticking out. I accidentally kicked the PCMCIA card, then the casing came open at the opposite end to the end that sticks into the Amiga A1200. I've now tried to use this card again with my Amiga A1200, but surprise surprise it doesn't work! All I get is an Software Error message after the Workbench Screen appears, but before all the icons appear. I'm using it with a MATSUI LCD HD TV which is several years old and works quite well for most uses, but I can't make out exactly what this Software Error number is. It consists of nearly all zeros, but I can't tell if the number on in the first column is 8 or B. I also tried taping the card casing back together in case it made any difference by bringing any components back into contact with each other, but it didn't! I'm now considering my options to restore my A1200 to at least 4Mb total. Unfortunately, I haven't got all that much money at the moment, as well as having various expenses coming up. I've seen some PCMCIA cards on eBay at the moment for about £45 and £55. Of course, it would be better to get some kind of accelerator card including at least 2Mb RAM, but that would be more expensive. To cap it all, I've also fitted a Gotek floppy emulator drive plugged into the df0: socket (in 2015), but it now seems unable to read the USB stick I copied lots of ADF files onto, probably in 2015 and 2016, although I can read these files when I plug it into my laptop. I've also tried copying some ADF files onto a USB stick I bought last year, but it doesn't work with that at all. I'll have to post about that in another topic, though. Any advice would be appreciated. I just want to sort this out ASAP and as cheaply as possible.
