@Tahoe

That is incorrect.  They are new production runs.

Then if they are new how were they manufactured?I wish there would be new production of cyberstorm ppc or phase 5 1200 ppc boards. They are so expensive...even with the appeareance of sam and other amiga like boards.

I don't know, they contracted for them to be made.  This is the original release fro Software Hut's page:

April 24, 2009 Update - Software Hut and GVP have teamed to bring back many popular GVP products for the Amiga at new, lower prices. These are newly made production pieces with a full 1 year warranty. Many of the items are limited production so hurry as they will sell out fast. Our first batch of ram both 4mb and 16mb simms has arrived today and A2000 and A4000 accelerators are due in stock on Monday. A1200 accelerators should be the end of next week and the Spectrum boards should be in around May 5th.

It's taken longer than expected, but the A1200 and A4000 accelerator boards were already produced, and now the GVP Spectrum boards are completed and selling.

Visit http://www.softhut.com for more info - but e-mail them for up-to-date information.

Joe from Software Hut e-mailed me yesterday saying the new Spectrum boards have arrived, and that he is shipping mine out today.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50274

That says enough for me, they are just reselling old stock/recalls that they fix up etc etc.

Why do you think the production run in limited?
How do you think they where able to source obsolete parts?
Why do you think the boards are silkscreened DCE?

That's right, because they aren't new, they might be re-assembled, rebuild or whatever, but that does not make them new in my book.

They are newly assembled.  Sure, the parts may be old (eg. the graphics chip on the spectrum is old).  Anyway you will be able to see it for yourself after I take unboxing photos.

Why do you think the production run in limited?

Because the market is small.

New-Old-Stock parts and pulled parts are still widely available.  I can still buy many MOS technology chips for my VIC-20 and C-64 online from electronics vendors.

Because they are using the original silkscreens or masks.  Why incur costs to generate new screens when it offers no functional benefit and GVP is trying to keep costs down?

I'm not saying you're wrong.  It is possible these are newly assembled from old parts.  But your points of argument (above) are not watertight enough to draw such a conclusion.

A  limited run of PPC boards with comparable price drops would be like Christmas for big kids!

Probably  a bigger market for 1200 cards but I wouldn't say no to a 3000/4000 card.

Looks like the new production run of GVP Spectrum graphics cards have arrived at Software Hut.  I got an e-mail from Joe today and he will be shipping mine out tomorrow.

I will post unboxing photos when it arrives, hopefully late next week.

Not sure how many there are, so if you are interested in one I'd e-mail Software Hut to check.

Where on the Softhut website is this item listed?  I looked everywhere but couldn't find it.  Thanks.
