A4000 Indivision

I will be ordering some new hardware for my A4000, curious does the Indivision MKIIcr offer any significant advantage over the original Indivision AGA for the A4000....aside from VGA vs DVI?

Here you go, from Icomp's wiki:  "faster FPGA, faster memory, more flexible pixel clocks and most importantly: DVI-I output." - But AFAIK none of those other more advanced features are taken advantage of.

Oh I thought the MKIIcr was a lower price point version vs MKII, without the pcb adapter interface that was brought into a shelled DVI connector

I think he is referring to the Indivision AGA that was VGA output not the MKII or MKIIcr.  see http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/indivisionaga

I have both and find the VGA was easier to setup and use for PAL/NTSC modes and getting a centered picture on decent CRT screens.  The MKII (inc. cr) requires a lot of config modifications to get DVI/VGA output centered and working well on CRT or LCD screens.  Software is a little harder to figure out.  MKII also can have different screen rates for DVI vs VGA output on the DVI with VGA adapter.

The biggest advantage of the MKII was the:

     Async mode: output pixel clock of Amiga modes are multiplied 2.5 times
     Vertical Sync mode: exact double of Amiga mode pixel clock (eliminates tearing effects)
 

MKII is definitely more advanced but harder to configure.
