Hello
I cann't login or post thread for one week.
Apparently there is a browser compatibility problem between Xoops 2 and various Linux browser: Lynx, Links, Dillo, Opera 7.23
After login with correct password, there is a redirection page. But after pressing "click here", the browser return to the main webpage and ask for UserID and password again, not the usual member only page.
It's strange that I can browse using MS Windows: Opera, Lynx, MS IE and latest version of Netscape 7.1 for Linux and Mozilla Firebird for Linux.
Any other member with similar problems?
How to fix this problem?
Thank you.

Hi asian1
the same problem here but . . . .it is enough that you change your Fastlink button to
http://www.amiga.org
and all is OK.
They have changed something (without say nothing GRRRR)
Before this change, the URL and relative Cookie was:
http://amiga.org (without www).
That's all :-)
Ciao

>Fastlink
Hello
Thank's for the reply. What is fastlink button?
Is it possible to login to Amiga.Org using modified Lynx?
I read from Xoops.Org forum (Usage) about login problem.
Is this the same problem as Amiga.Org and AmigaWorld.Net?
Thank's.

Xoops 2 is not yet running. This is a problem with your cookies and the fact that we've moved to a new host. Start using the www and there is no problem that hasn't already existed for about 3 years or so.

>Problem with cookies
Hello
Thank you for the reply.
What is the meaning of "using www"?
Cookie jar on Lynx:
1. Start lynx from command line.
2. Browse to http://www.amiga.org ->
Cookie Jar: Empty.
3. Login to redirection webpage ->
Cookie jar: www.amiga.org
(Allowed through prompt)
No expiration, path, etc.
4. Click on "here" -> back to main webpage.
Cookie jar: Empty.
Any idea what's wrong with this situation?
Perhaps the new host did not send the correct cookies?
I had contacted my ISP but they said that there is no port blocking or other modification / change.
Thank you.

Opera 7.23, mozillafirebird and even lynx works for me.

>TOMAS -> Lynx
Hello
Thank's for the reply.
Do you use Lynx for Linux or MS Windows?
If you use Linux, what is the content of your Cookie Jar?
1. Start Lynx
2. Press Ctrl-K to access Cookie Jar.
3. Clean Cookie Jar.
4. quit Lynx.
5. Re-start Lynx.
6. Browse to Amiga.Org. What is the content of Cookie Jar?
7. Login to Amiga.Org. If you reach member page,
What is the content of Cookie Jar?
What is the port number?
I need this information for complain letter to my ISP.
Thank you.

Hi Asian1,
what do you type in the browser URL sting?
If you type
http://amiga.org the Cookie, doesn't works.
You must type, in the browser URL string:
http://www.amiga.org
because the Cookie, NOW are stored as www.amiga.org
Ciao

Hello
I try both http://amiga.org and http://www.amiga.org,
but failed. Another customer of my ISP complained
about blocked ports since last week. (8000).
Is this related to my problem?
There is also message on Xoops forum.
Is this the same problem as Amiga.Org?

Did you just install a firewall? What about using a proxy? What settings are different that you are able to log in from other computer systems? Do you have a "Block Referred" enabled somewhere? Any on of these things could potentially lead to a denied access on any Xoops system.
The problem posted on Xoops has nothing to do with this situation. The "mainfile" is up to date and has been for almost two years. It has to be something to do with your internet settings/browser settings. Also, this doesn't sound like an ISP problem. If the problem continues after you've tweaked your settings, let us know.

>Firewall, Proxy, Blocked Referred
Hello
My primary PC: without hard disk, a CD-ROM drive (read only) and Knoppix LiveCD. As far as I know there is no firewall or proxy setting or blocked referred on Knoppix LiveCD 3.1.
Because this is a LiveCD, it is imposible to modify setting (and I don't change anything). Usually I can browse using Lynx and Opera. One week ago, the problem started and I cannot login. Therefore the problem should be on either the ISP or Amiga.Org host.
I try to browse using the 2nd PC with MS Windows PC with IE, Opera 7.11, Mozilla and Lynx for Windows and everything works.
I use the 3rd PC with hard disk and Linux mandrake. I had turned off firewall during install and use standard security setting. I had compiled from source code: Lynx, Links, Dillo, Mozilla Firebird. I had installed Opera, Netscape, Beonex, Arachne.
The compatible browsers are: Mozilla Firebird & Beonex, Netscape and Arachne. On Mozilla & Beonex, there is a cookie called "AO_Session". On Lynx & others there is NO Cookies at all.
I guess that Lynx, Opera etc cannot receive cookies from certain ports or there is something wrong with cookies sent from Amiga.Org host (expiration, path etc).
Can Tomas or other members of Amiga.Org send details about Lynx (for Linux) Login Cookies from Amiga.Org?
(Press Ctrl-K to access cookie jar).
Thank you.
