Hello from the states. I've recently become really "into" the Amiga as an amazing 2D games machine (rather like a Sega Genesis with MUCH better sound) and as an art/creativity tool (it has creative tools which I find much better for "random doodling" than modern stuff like Photo$hop. I'm currently a UAE/Amiga Forever "lamer" but I also have an A500 (expanded only with 512K of slow RAM and an RTC) that I play Lemmings on... Someday I hope to get a real life 060+PowerPC monster though.

Hello and welcome to A.Org,
Unless you really need a 060/PPC I would'nt bother :)

hey how ya doin
most of us dont consider uae/amiga forever lame anymore especially if you have a fast pc with a huge monitor and...etc,etc,etc
my pc can run practically all amiga software through emulation, ive found quite a few things my 3000 cant run
ive had the opertunity to get 060 and ppc for my 3000 but didnt consider it woth it. a fast 030 or 040 are more compatible and supported. course if you want to drop a couple grand the skys the limit.
what part of the americas are you from?

I have a P3/866 with 256 RAM. That gives me (according to SysInfo) the equivalent of a 109 MHz 68040. According to AIBB, my graphics performance is only about that of an A1200 (unless I turn on RTG, in which case the full brunt of my GeForce 5500's 2D power comes into play)

Compatability is one reason I want an "old-school" add-on board based system rather than a more modern "all-in-one" A1/EFIKA/Pegasos system...
