Paula problems (A1200)
« on: April 30, 2009, 07:32:22 PM »
At many times, the sound is getting low in volume and sounds super clipped (with noises)... If I wait some minutes: "POP!" the proper sound comes back... Sometimes it sounds weird again, like the LED filter is on (and the volume gets like 20% lower)... The LED filter is *not* on, and I've checked my stereo receiver. It *IS* the A1200. This error came today... I've tried to open the A1200 and push all the components/capacitors firmly down - no luck.
EDIT: Gah, it comes and goes - the problem is there many times.
So... Sounds for me like a capacitor problem.. Should I recap? Darn, I need to get a better soldering iron...  :-x

I saw that you recapped all your caps on your a1200... (The image here on Amiga.org's photo album) - where did you buy the parts? I would like to buy the exact ones as well, from the same place =) There's no such shop here where I live...

Sounds like a capacitor problem or the AF amp.

bought caps from ebay, from china
there are shops with parts (gme.cz, ges.cz), but they dont have much values in stock and if you want to order something it takes exactly a month and you need to buy large quantities.
And they call themselves "market leaders", lol, what a loosers imo
