Greetings all:

Following a couple of years very active in the professional and general User Group community, I joined Commodore in the late 1980's and played a key role out of headquarters. But this was all in the pro arenas, which unfortunately was never as visible to the consumer user base nor the general public.

But there was a LOT of action, including real wins at the time. At one point independent research (Sheer & Chaskelson) reported that we had achieved #1 status (real units sold) in 7 Professional markets/categories. These, of course, included Graphics, Animation, Video and Multimedia segments.

I have... well, a bunch of stuff from those days. This includes some very unique, special items and some of the "insider" materials and memorabilia. I'm going first to the existing Amiga User/Enthusiast Community, before the stuff hits eBay.

Anyone might be interested?

Cheers,

Christopher

Uh, Yeah!?!

I don't have any money to invest but would love to see a webpage or article with nice photos and descriptions along with your recollections of the items. It would be a great thing to add to the history of Commodore!

As it happens, I am contacting some of the persons stewarting some existing Amiga History sites and the like to discuss doing something like that.

Ironically, I'd attempted to contact Amiga, Inc. some time ago to offer some of the stuff to them... and they weren't interested. Go figure.

I'll post here as any manifest progress is made.

Thanks for your interest!

Cheers,

Christopher

@CBMer,

Yea, The current Amiga Inc is not interested in anything that has to do with the real Amiga what so ever. This includes its history....

Any chance you've got the Hedley Davis Memorial Disk Drive featured in Dave Haynie's Deathbed Vigil? It would be great to see if that made it out of West Chester :-)

I am also interested in some historical goodies. I already have one of the few A2200 motherboards (at least I think their are only a few) - adding some interesting tidbit will be fun!

You can contact me at douglas@tdscomputer.com

(I also have a Commodore branded calculator from the late '70's, too!)

A CBM management type person! Quick! Burn him!  :-D

(Ofcourse I'm just kidding, what with upper management smurfs like Ali and Gould often being blamed partly for C='s downfall and all)

@CBMer

Of course we're interested, but you should know we're a skepticle bunch. Do you have a list and pictures of items?

@Kin-Hell

Well there's so few things to get excited about these days, it doesn't take much anymore.

Sounds more like a sales rep if I had to guess. They always get all the cool souvenirs. :-)

Oh hell yes  :-o
I run cdtv.org.uk (Yeah its out of date, I will get around to updating it soon) so anything CDTV specific is of great interest to me. Im also always after rare late generation stuff (Zorro 3 era) but hey anything interesting. :)
(I already have a CDTV CR, unpopulated A4KT's, cdtv prototype and a load of internal CDTV docs)

Anyhow, looking forward to the list :D
