Well after a hard nights careful de-soldering (last night) I was able to remove half the Gary Socket and only have the other half to go (old solder is a pain to work with).
I was also able to clean the motherboard with Isoprophyl and a toothbrush/rag and it came up really well, so well in fact that I couldn't find a single damaged trace or area missing lacquer (mainly just discoloration) so now Im really optimistic that I'll be able to return my Miggy 500+ to full health! :cool:
