A2630 with DKB2632
A2630 with DKB2632
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: This is a Rev 9 A2630 with a DKB 2632 installed and configured with 64 megs of fast ram. Installing this combination in my Amiga 2000 with an A2091 instantly caused DMA problems (Read/Write errors especially on cold boot) when accessing the hard drive in 030 mode. Installing a 1K pull-up resistor across pins 11 and 20 of U605 on the A2000 motherboard seems to have cured it. Thanks to Dave Haynie for posting this valuable information and "The Vintage Amigan" for selling it to me!

Hey Jeff,

I have this card and I have some major DMA issues, maybe I need to do this mod?  I just thought it was the nature of this beast, the 16-bit SCSI and 32-bit memory access, etc.  What kind of transfers do you get now and any patches to make it work good??

I don't know, but adding the resistor to the motherboard sure did cure the problem. The machine is rock solid now.

I have two of these combo's, a rev C (which you seem to have also) and a rev E. The revision E has a jumper for A2630 rev. 6 or rev 9. Would this jumper clear those problems?
