Title: Workbench backgrouds
Post by: sturulez on March 16, 2021, 03:26:43 PM
I am running my workbench on the following resolution due to my screen size

1275 x 500

XTREME Super High Res

Where can I obtain desktop wallpapers that will fill my screen size?

Since that’s not a standard resolution there probably won’t be many (any?) premade backdrops that fit perfectly. Some 1280x720 images might work well enough if you don’t mind the top or bottom being slightly cropped.

Depending on your display hardware, though, you might be able to run an actual 1280x720 Workbench with one of the newer monitor drivers.

Otherwise, be prepared to rescale some images manually.

Get a bigger image and crop it / rescale it to right res and number of colours.

It's pretty much what AdPro was invented for. That and saving an image in a different format...  :)

Actually that's a lie, you can do a lot more than that with AdPro.

Art Department Professional by ASDG.

Just look for Ultra wide wallpapers and scale those down.

No, hence the "Professional". But you can do it faster with todays PC or Mac tools, like Preview.

Gimp is open source. Also has a loader/saver for IFF (it's a third party plugin, not sure if it does 24 bit IFFs);-

Windows version of GIMP only though.
